Harley Davidson Company
The Harley Davidson Company is world renowned for its heavyweight motorbikes which sport distinctive and traditional designs, a style which ultimately lead to the chopper design used by many motorbike manufactures today. Harley Davidson is now a public company, and is also known under the names Harley or simply HD. The motorbikes produced by the company are commonly referred to simply as Harleys. The company itself was founded in nineteen hundred and three in Milwaukee, the largest city within the state of Wisconsin, north central United States. The company has stood the test of time, making it through difficult times during the great depression, as well as surviving downward trends and image issues of motorbikes, and the industry as a whole.
Today the Harley Davidson brand is well established and known around the globe. Being the innovators of the chopper style, and heavily customisable motorbikes, has helped Harley Davidson create a loyal following which spans across the globe. There are many clubs and events throughout the year, as well as a museum which informs people about the journey of the company and the bikes produced over the decades. The brand image of Harley-Davidson is big money, with the logo licensing alone bringing in roughly five percentage of revenue for the company.
